The contest is organized by Serges Demefack during the award ceremony and is open to all school age kids.
There is two categories for the contest, and each category earn an award.

Free Sculpture*
Rules:
1. Artwork: Each candidate must submit one sculpture created during the 2025-2026 school year.
2. Materials: Any materials allowed – clay, wood, metal, recycled items, etc.
3. Submission: The artwork must be brought in person on the day of the KEA Awards celebration. One entry per student.
4. Identification: Each piece must include a label with:
- Candidate’s full name
- Grade/Level
- Parent or guardian phone number
Judging Criteria: Originality, technique, relevance to theme, presentation

On-Site Drawing*
Rules:
1. Task: Candidates will sit in the room and draw an African sculpture that will be displayed during the KEA celebration.
2. Time Limit: 45 minutes
3. Materials: Paper, pencils, and crayons will be provided by KEA. No personal materials allowed.
4. Identification: Full name and grade must be written on the back of the paper before starting.
Judging Criteria: Accuracy of proportions, creativity, line work, rendering of volume
